About Me
Hi, my name is Pam.
Paper Pills is my blog for most things book-related. The title of my blog comes from a melancholy short story of the same title by Sherwood Anderson from his collection/novel, Winesburg, Ohio. In this story, Doctor Reefy keeps his pockets full of paper scraps: “On the papers were written thoughts, ends of thoughts, beginnings of thoughts,” which he would promptly stuff into his pockets to become round, hard balls. This blog is my pocket.
Disclaimer: I work in book publishing. I am not interested in getting fired, so if you’re looking for salacious gossip about the industry, look elsewhere. I hope that I review a wide enough array of books that you, casual reader, will never deduce where I work. But should I slip up (or you prove to be a regular Sherlock Holmes), I assure you that none of the opinions stated in this blog reflect the opinions of the unnamed company that employs me.
If you would like to get in touch with me, e-mail pillspaper@gmail.com. Yes, the e-mail address is a bit confusing, but just pretend that my first name is Paper, and my last name is Pills, and you are looking me up in the phone book.
Lastly, if you would like to write a post for this blog, I’d be happy to have you. Just e-mail me.
