About Me
Hi, my name is Pam.
Paper Pills is my blog for mostly book-related things. The title of my blog comes from a melancholy short story of the same title by Sherwood Anderson from his collection/novel, Winesburg, Ohio. In this story, Doctor Reefy keeps his pockets full of paper scraps: “On the papers were written thoughts, ends of thoughts, beginnings of thoughts,” which he would promptly stuff into his pockets to become round, hard balls. This blog is my pocket.
Disclaimer: I work in book publishing. It does come to pass that I write about the books we’re publishing, and you might wonder, “Can I trust Pam’s glowing opinion of such-and-such a book when her day job consists of marketing aforementioned book?” The answer is yes, because it’s simply too hard to fake enthusiasm. However, you won’t find me talking smack about our titles because 1.) what’s the fun in that? and 2.) I rather like my job and would prefer not to get fired.
Naturally, any opinions expressed in this blog are mine and are not the opinions of my employer.
If you would like to get in touch with me, e-mail pillspaper@gmail.com. Lastly, if you would like to write a post for this blog, I’d be happy to have you. Just e-mail me.
